The PVE Youth Blast is aimed to contribute to peaceful and sustainable societies. In fact, we believe that including youths in the pursuit of peaceful and inclusive societies free of Violent Extremism must remain one of the central aims for which PVE policies are created globally. This is on account of the inextricable link between the increasing number of youths joining violent and extremist groups and the increasing threat of such terror groups.
This requires realizing the full potential of young people in maintenance of peace and security by full participation in preventing violent extremism, to drive a new era of development, growth, and leadership. Our approach and program activities on Preventing violent extremism are aimed at widening youths' participation to address issues of social exclusion, marginalization, manipulation, unemployment, corruption and distortion of ethnical messages while building a sense of ownership and community.
In addition to building capacity, the PVE Youth Blast will create a platform for young people to share experiences and solutions related to radicalization. It is expected to advance an environment that will help to forge strategic PVE partnerships and cooperation, develop a knowledge base of activities, initiatives and best practices, and strengthen the Youths PVE strategy to ensure the continued participation of young people in these processes.
For that the PVE Youth Blast is an annual event organized by YELI in partnership with other organization working on peace building in order to review the PVE programs, projects and initiatives taken during the year and to draw lessons from them for the following year.
